Zesty Italian Chicken
Zesty Italian Chicken Recipe is a perfect chicken dish, full of flavor and so moist with Italian dressing and seasonings!
This is one of my favourite chicken dishes. Prepare the thicken properly to have a better cooking. Make middle size pieces of the chicken. From one complete breast piece you can have four equal regular pieces. Remember to mayonnaise mixture over chicken while cooking according to the cooking instruction.
After Preheating the oven to 360°F-370°F, combine flour, Italian seasoning, and pepper and dredge them in the flour mixture. Over medium-high heat ready the olive oil and add the chicken breasts. After 3 minutes of cooking on each side till it becomes golden brown remove chicken from the skillet. After that Bake the preparation for 10-12 minutes. Just before the complete baking process add the garlic and after sautéing that Add the lemon zest and juice. After a little more cooking add parsley. Finally, remove the chicken from the oven and add the sauce and serve hot.

Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 tablespoon flour all-purpose
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning dried
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup zesty Italian dressing
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 to 6 oz chicken breast halves skinless, boneless - 1 chicken breast cut into 4 equal piece
- 1 tablespoon olive oil extra-virgin
Sauce
- 3 tbsp garlic cloves minced
- ¼ cup chicken broth fat-free, less-sodium (or water)
- ½ cup zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
- ¼ cup Italian dressing reduced-fat
- 1 tbsp leaf parsley chopped fresh flat
Instructions
- At first, preheat oven to 360°F – 370°F.
- After that, combine the flour, Italian seasoning, and pepper in a bowl properly.
- Now, cut the chicken breast into pieces and dry it with a paper towel.
- Now dredge them and coat properly in the flour mixture. Do not leave excess flour on it, you must clear the excess flour.
- Heat near about 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat and add the chicken breasts.
- Now mix the mayonnaise mixture over chicken and cook this preparation up to 3 minutes on each side until it turns golden brown.
- Turn chicken and coat with remaining mayonnaise mixture and again cook for 3-4 minutes.
- After completion of cooking remove the chicken and place that in an ovenproof dish to bake for 10-14 minutes.
- When the chicken is baking prepare the chicken broth sauce using garlic cloves, zest, and lemon juice with Italian dressing in addition.
- Just before the baking process ends add the broth sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Finally, add the chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley and remove from heat.
- Remove the chicken breasts from the oven and no need to pick the excess mayonnaise mixture with it.
- Spoon the extra sauce over it and serve!
Notes
- You can also prepare this recipe on the grill. Place the chicken on the grill to cook and after that coat with mayonnaise mixture and cover it. Keep it on medium heat near about 35 to 55 minutes. After that again coat with mayonnaise mixture on the other side and continue. When it turns to golden brown color start the baking process and follow later instructions.
- If you want to freeze this chicken recipe to serve later, always use airtight freezer container. And before reheating thaw fully.
- This recipe is also handy to prepare in a slow cooker and tastes fantastic. To have this croak pot preparation cook on low heat 5 to 6 hours OR on high heat 4 hours.
